  About Sharon

Sharon A. Lockhart, CFP®, CDFA™ is a registered principal and investment advisor representative with Raymond James Financial Services, member FINRA/SIPC. Sharon has twenty-eight years experience helping individuals through various life stages, first time home buyer, college education, divorce, widowhood and retirement. She specializes in helping individuals accumulate and preserve wealth for retirement.

A lifelong resident of the Greater Kansas City area, Sharon received a degree in Business Management from Longview Community College and attended Avila College nights while operating a delicatessen in her hometown, Belton, MO.

Joining the securities industry in 1981, as a Registered Representative with a NYSE Stock Exchange firm, she earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner in 1991 and became an independent advisor in 1996 when affiliating with Raymond James. Additionally she became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ in 1997 working with individuals and couples to help them achieve financially equitable settlements in divorce.

Providing pre-divorce financial planning services on an hourly basis, Sharon works with clients and their team of legal professionals to help them determine the financial implications of various child support and maintenance payment options and the division of marital assets, including pensions and qualified retirement plans. The focus of her pre-divorce financial planning is toward reaching financially equitable settlements for both parties.

Sharon addresses financial issues at seminars and conferences locally and nationally and is published in the Kansas City Small Business Monthly, WISERWoman, Evolving Woman, the Massachusetts Law Review, and was frequently interviewed in the Money Wise section of the Kansas City Star. Currently, she convenes UMKC Communiversity courses about women, money and divorce.

Professional memberships include: the Financial Planning Association, Financial Services Institute, Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, Financial Divorce Association, International Association for Collaborative Law, and the Institute of Collaborative Law Chapters of Missouri and Kansas.
